The reason why bodybuilding has become very popular is because people have come to discover that it is a very effective routine when it comes to staying fit. People all over the world have taken up bodybuilding and it is very hard to come a across person who does not go to the gym or undertake any kind of training. The reason why so many people are interested in training is because they want to cut there body fat and improve there body physique.

Who can blame them, when it is a fact that having a good body physique will help you develop your self confidence? There is no clear distinction between bodybuilding and fitness nowadays since they are one and the same. When you stay fit you will be able to live a positive life and it goes without saying that you will also be able to improve your psychological healthy as well. The society nowadays is very fitness conscious and this has lead to the decrease in mortality rate.

In the past the society used to associate losing weight with going on a fad diet. This made it very difficult for people to lose weight. The reason was because the use of fad diets caused the body to go into starvation mode. When the body is in starvation mode it usually starts to preserve energy by burning muscles instead on fat. This leads to the depletion of body muscles and the consequent slowing down of the body metabolism.

The body metabolism will slow down because it is affected by the number of lean body muscles. If you have a lot of muscles your body metabolism will be faster and vice verse. Therefore since the fad diets cause you to lose muscles your body metabolism will also become slow. When your body metabolism slows down you will not be able to burn a lot of calories and therefore you will put on more body weight.

When losing weight and staying fit you should also avoid the use of steroids. Men have been known to experience the following side effects; shrinking of the testicles, growth of breasts, low sperm count, decrease in sex drive, impotence, baldness,: women on the other hand experience the following side effects, enlargement of the clitoris, growth of facial hair, there voice breaks and they start talking like men, irregularity in there menses, and baldness.

These side effects are as a result of the hormonal imbalance brought about due to using steroids. There are other side effects which are life threatening and they include; enlargement of the heart, stiffening of the arteries, enlargement of the prostrate, liver conditions, acne, heart ailments , kidney problems and muscle tear. The use of steroids also affects someone’s psychological health in that they become more aggressive, suicidal, depressed and also suffer from severe cases of insomnia.

If you want to stay fit you should body build the natural way which involves following a proper training and dietary regimen.

Wrinkles, sags, lines, freckles and “liver spots” are all normal accompaniments of aging–or are they? We hear so much hype about what goes on in the aging process it becomes really difficult to separate fact from fiction. However, we do know that there are some topical ingredients that will help the skin combat oxidative stress, regenerate tissue and heal itself. This list covers just a few of the anti-aging heavy hitters you will find in MV products. For a more complete discussion of aging, please visit the About Aging page.

Alpha-lipoic acid—A powerful anti-oxidant. Alpha lipoic acid’s antiaging benefits are in part likely related to its ability to increase levels of the amino acid glutathione, which also possesses anti-aging properties.

Australian bush plum– With the average vitamin C content of 3.0 – 3.5% (range= .2 to 5.9%) the bush plum provides the most concentrated natural source of vitamin C known. The typical bush plum contains about 2907 mg vitamin C per 100 grams of edible fruit.

Beta-carotene—a natural precursor to Vitamin A, whose cell regenerative properties have given it the reputation as the “skin vitamin.” Vitamin A is essential for skin health. Supplements are often given to help with cases of stubborn acne.

Carrot seed essential oil– This essential oil is widely appreciated for its ability to help heal dry and dehydrated skin. Carrot seed essential oil has a high carotol content, which provides good skin-rejuvenating properties. It also contains beta-carotine and it is rich in vitamins A & E. The oil’s aroma is sweet and it is an excellent essential oil for mature skin.

DMAE– (dimethylaminoethanol) An amino acid and antioxidant membrane stabilizer. DMAE works synergistically with antioxidants to enhance their strength, and to help repair and stabilize skin cell membranes by expelling waste.

Evening primrose oil– Evening primrose oil is one of the most concentrated sources of gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid with anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. The body converts the GLA in evening primrose oil into prostaglandins, substances that function like hormones and help to regulate body processes. It also contains substantial amounts of polysaturated omega-6 fatty acids.

Ginseng extract– (Panax quinquefolium) When applied to the skin, ginseng has been shown to enhance the cellular function of skin cells and stimulate skin cell regeneration. It is useful in combating wrinkles and the visible signs of aging. Ginseng is extracted from the root of the ginseng plant after the plant reaches maturity, which may take six or more years.

Glyconutrients—provide nutrients so skin can biosynthesize hyaluronic acid and other glycosamineglycans, thus maintaining skin plumpness. Read more about the benefits of glyconutrients on the Glyconutrients page.

Gotu Kola– Known for its remarkable wound healing properties, gotu kola is often used for treating burns and skin ulcers.

Helichryssum essential oil– Helichrysum stimulates production of new cells, so it’s used in skin products to treat acne, scar tissue, bruising, mature skin, and burns. It also helps to prevent sunburn. It treats bacterial infection and inflammation and helps to boost the body’s immune system. Its healing properties can quell a chronic cough, bronchitis, or fever, and it can alleviate pain by numbing nerve endings. It also lessens muscle pain, arthritis, enlarged veins, liver problems and counters allergic reactions like asthma. Its scent helps relieve depression, nervous exhaustion, and stress.

Idebenone- a powerful anti-oxidant. Results of a clinical trial were presented in February 2004 at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology. They wanted to find out which ingredient offered the best protection against free radicals. Idebenone finished first against vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10, kinetin, and alpha-lipoic acid. The benefits of this ingredient include shielding skin from environmental damage, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing dryness and smoothing skin texture.

Kombucha tea— Kombucha, also known as the Manchurian or Kargasok mushroom, is not a mushroom but rather a mixture of bacteria that includes Acetobacter xylinum, Acetobacter ketogenum and Pichia fermentans, and various yeasts. It contains lactic acid and glucoronic acid, essential for the biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid, an important component of the skin’s dermal layer that contributes to skin elasticity and plumpness. It acts as a humectant.

Pearl powder– By slowing down the development of melanin (the chemical in our body responsible for colour pigments) it prevents and facilitates the fading of pigmentation spots. Rich in proteins, pearls also help to renew skin cells. It is also rich in vitamin B-complex and polysaccharides which strengthen the muscles and improve metabolism. Taken internally, pearl powder also acts as a source of calcium to aid those with bone loss. Some Chinese experts claim that it has the ability to filter the sun’s rays and correct damage done to the skin by the sun. Common uses: evens out skin tone, clears acne and rosacea, fades pigmentation marks and is beneficial for general complexion maintenance.

Quercetin–a bioflavonoid (or flavonoid), which is a type of pigment found in almost all herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Bioflavonoids provide the body with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant protection, and quercetin is among the most powerful and effective of known anti-inflammatories and antioxidants

Resveratrol– Resveratrol ( trans-3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene ) is a protective compound produced by grapes and other plants in response to environmental stresses. Studies have demonstrated that resveratrol has potent antioxidant activity and also has the ability to inhibit platelet aggregation. These actions may help prevent free radical damage throughout the body and provide protective support to the cardiovascular system.

Rose hip seed oil– Rosehip seed oil contains Vitamin A, which helps to delay the effects of skin aging, assists with cell regeneration, and promotes increase of collagen and elastin levels. Rosehip seed oil also contains a high amount of essential fatty acids and Vitamin E. In particular, it is rich in linoleic and linolenic acids, important skin nutrients.

Seabuckthorn oil– Sea Buckthorn oil has multiple benefits in the area of restorative and anti-aging skin care. Natural antioxidants and essential fatty acids help reverse damaging effects of sun radiation and minimize long term effects of sun exposure. Promotes natural skin restorative processes. Tolerated by any type of skin, sea buckthorn oil is especially beneficial for rosacea-prone skin as it provides long term anti-inflammatory, restorative and revitalizing action.

White tea– well-documented antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Topical white tea polyphenols are likely to slow down the development of some signs of aging. In particular, since the sun protection benefits of white tea are particularly well documented, it makes sense to use a sunscreen with white tea in it, and particularly a sunscreen with zinc oxide, as ZO is chemically inert and will not react with white tea (which some chemical sunscreens might do, especially in sunlight).

Have you noticed a tinge of blood in your stool lately? Colon Cancer Staging And Grading Are you always tired and feeling fatigued? Are you experiencing weight loss, but have not been dieting or engaging in exercise routine? These and many other symptoms should necessitate a visit to a doctor.

Colon cancer is regarded as the second leading cause of most cancer deaths in the United States. Colon cancer is a long-standing disease, which starts as a polyp or a small non-cancerous growth. This small non-cancerous growth will slowly transforms itself into a malignant tumor over a period of 5 to 10 years. People in their thirties and forties are most often predisposed to colon cancer, amounting to about one-quarter of all colon cancer patients.

Colon cancer doesn’t show any visible symptoms during the early stages. During the later stages however, a person suffering with colon cancer may exhibit any or all of the following symptoms:

1. Diarrhea or constipation that persists for a long time.

2. Unusual abdominal gas, or cramping.

3. Episodes of physical fatigue without known reasons.

4. Apparent loss weight and appetite.

5. Stools that are narrow, almost the diameter of a pencil.

6. Bloody stools.

7. There is pain and tenderness felt in the lower abdomen.

Lung Cancer Secrets Revealed Click here

8. Changes in fecal diameter, color and frequency of movement lasting more than two weeks.

Although colon cancer claims to be second among the causes of cancer deaths, the frequency rate can be lowered if only its detection is done early. The polyps and early stage cancer that are discovered before any symptoms are produced most often offer a cure rate as high as 100 percent.

Your doctor should annually test your stool for hidden blood. A procedure called sigmoidoscopy can also be done to diagnose colon cancer. Sigmoidoscopy utilizes a flexible lighted tube with a camera that sits on its tip. This instrument is then inserted into the lower third of the colon. Observations reveal that almost half of all cancers in this area are found in the lower third portion of the colon. Another procedure called colonoscopy is done to check for growths throughout the entire length of the large intestine. An x-ray can also be an alternative diagnostic procedure. A barium enema is given to a patient. An opaque liquid fills the colon, which then becomes visible on X-ray film.

Colon cancer treatments may include chemotherapy and surgery. Those suffering from the advanced form of colon cancer may require chemotherapy. If surgery is the form of treatment, your surgeon will usually remove any polyps found during colonoscopy. If the detection of the tumor is done early, part of the colon affected with the tumor is removed surgically, the colon is restored back to its normal function, and complete healing is expected. However, if the cancer has already reached a wide area including the colon wall, lymph and blood vessels, chemotherapy is thus required. If the cancer involves a large tumor, temporary or permanent colostomy may be required. Re-routing the colon through an opening in the abdomen does this. The wastes pass through the opening and into a pouch outside the patient’s body.

lung cancer treatment breakthroughs Click here

Everyone needs an adequate health insurance plan; however, in America, everyone doesn’t have the same health insurance plan. Actually, the health insurance plan that’s available to one person may not be available to another person. One reason this is true is not all health insurance plans are affordable to all people.
There are three practical ways of obtaining a good health insurance plan – you just have to compare the health insurance plans and get the most affordable health insurance for you.
Group Health Insurance
You can obtain an affordable group health insurance plan in a variety of ways. Most employers offer group health insurance plans as benefits to their employees; many of these types of group health insurance plans allow you to add your spouse and your children onto the health insurance policy.
Various organizations and associations offer group health insurance plans as benefits to their members. Some businesses, such as credit card companies, offer group health insurance plans as benefits to their customers.
Find out if your employer offers group health insurance. Or, if you belong to any clubs or are associated with a particular business, ask if they offer group health insurance plans.
Individual Health Insurance
Unfortunately, employers aren’t required to offer group health insurance plans to their employees. When this is the case, consider purchasing an individual health insurance plan. With the broad range of health insurance companies specializing in affordable individual plans, you will be able to find a plan that meets your health needs as well as satisfies your budget.
State-sponsored Health Insurance
If you aren’t employed, or your employer doesn’t offer group health insurance and you can’t afford to purchase health insurance otherwise, contact your state’s department of insurance for information about state-sponsored health insurance plans. Depending on your income, as well as any other factors your state considers, you and your family members may be eligible for very low-cost or free health insurance.

Most of us have had a minor knee pain problem at one time or another. Usually the body movements do not cause problems; however, it is not surprising that unpleasant symptoms develop from everyday wear and tear, overuse, and a result of an injury such as a ruptured ligament or torn cartilage or, certain medical conditions, including arthritis, gout and infection. Knee pain most often occur during sports or recreational activities, work-related tasks or home projects. Fortunately, many relatively minor instances of knee pain responds well to self-care measures. More-serious injuries such as ruptured ligament or tendon may need surgical repair. Although every knee pain problem cannot be prevented particularly if you are physically active you can take certain home care treatments to cut back the risk of injury or disease. At Home Care Treatment Many causes of knee problem, especially those related to overuse or physical activity, respond well to at home remedies: * Rest. Taking a break from your normal activity reduces repetitive strain on your knee, gives the injury time to heal and helps avoid further damage. A day or two of rest may be all that is needed for minor knee pain injuries. But a more severe damage is likely to need a longer recovery time. * Icing. Ice help reduce both pain and inflammation. In fact, some sport doctors suggest applying ice to injured knee for about 20-30 minutes at least 4 times a day. Use ice pack wrapped in thin fabric to protect your skin. However do not leave the ice on longer than suggested as it put damage to your nerves and skin. * Keep your knee elevated as much as possible to help reduce swelling and drain away fluids that accumulate after a knee injury. * Gently compress the injured knee by wearing an ace bandage or elastic sleeve – either can be purchase at most drug stores. Compression may reduce swelling and provide support. * Take a knee pain treatment or reliever for pain and swelling. * Protection. The best method to protect your knee from further damage usually depends on the type and severity of your knee injury. For most minor knee pain injuries, a compression bandage is usually sufficient. While for more serious knee pain injuries, such as a torn ACL or high-grade collateral ligament sprain, typically require crutches and sometimes a brace to help stabilize the joint with weight bearing. However, when at home remedies aren’t enough to ease pain and swelling in an injured knee, your doctor may recommend other knee pain treatment such as: * Physical Therapy. Normally, the goal of this activity is to strengthen the muscles around your knee and help you regain knee stability. And this exercise is likely to focus on the muscles in the back and front of your thigh, your calf, hip and ankle. You can do some of the prescribed exercise program at home. Others may require the use of weight machines, exercise bicycles or treadmills, which may mean regular visits to a fitness center or clinic. * Treating the pain underlying medical conditions. If your knee pain is caused by other medical conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or gout, your physician will likely prescribe disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) to help control those conditions. * Surgical Options. There’s no best way to treat most knee pain injuries. Whether a surgery is best for you depend on several factors including: the type of injury and amount of damage to your knee, the risk of future injury or health damage if you do not have a surgery, your current lifestyle including which sports you play, your willingness to modify your activities and sports, and lastly your motivation to work through rehabilitation to strengthen your muscle after surgery. Now, if you have an injury that may require surgery, it is typically not necessary to have the operation immediately. In most cases, you will do better if you wait until the swelling goes down and you regain strength and full range of motion in your knee. Remember, before making in decision, consider the pros and cons of both nonsurgical rehabilitation and surgical reconstruction in relation to what is most important to you. Nonsurgical treatment, actually, is not an option if you have cartilage damage that interferes with your range of motion or if the blood supply to your knee is severely compromised. * Other treatment options for knee pain. In recent years, a number of nonsurgical knee pain treatments have been investigated or become available. Some are in the experimental stage and others are used routinely to alleviate knee pain and inflammation. And these are: Orthotics and bracing, Corticosteroid injections, Hyaluronic acid, and topical knee pain relievers such as ointment.Prevention Tips for Knee Pain Although it is not always possible to prevent knee pain or injury, the following tips may help forestall injuries and joint deterioration: * Increase your physical activity level slowly over time for example, when you begin exercising again, walk rather than run. * Optimize your method. If you are involved in a sport or any activity on a regular basis, it is important to have the best method possible so that proper movement patterns are trained. * Make sure your sport shoes fit well. A well-fitting shoe helps you maintain stability, so choose footwear that is appropriate for your sport. For example, running shoes aren’t designed for pivots and turns but tennis and racquetball shoes definitely are. * Maintain a healthy body weight. The best thing you can do for your knees is to keep an extra pound off. Part of this may be an every extra pound puts additional strain on your joints, therefore increasing the risk of ligament and tendon injuries and even osteoarthritis. * Always listen to your body. If your knees hurt, or you feel tired, do not be a hero – take a break. You are much more likely to injure yourself when you are forcing yourself. Bottom line: Knee pain is extremely common. Treatment for a knee problem or injury may always include first aid measures, rest, bracing, physical therapy, medicine and sometimes surgery. Treatment depends on the location, type and severity of the injury as well as your age, health condition and activity level such as work, sports and hobbies. So always check your symptoms and consult your doctor immediately if it doesn’t get better after 24 hours of home care treatment.

As we mentioned in previous articles Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder named after German physician Alois Alzheimer. Alzheimer’s destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough to affect language communication, memory, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time, and it is fatal. In this article, we will discuss how to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease with supplements.1. MelatoninAs aging, the production of melatonin in the pineal gland diminishes. The intake of melatonin supplement may exert a powerful antioxidant activity that easily helps to prevent the formation of cell radicals in our body including the brain.2. CarnosineCarnosine helps to block the formation of glycosylation, caused by sugar aldehydes reacting with the amino acid on the protein molecule. It also helps to remove toxic chemicals such as copper and zinc from the brain.3. DHEADHEA is a hormone produced by the adrenal gland that helps to regulate the balance of our body hormones. Deficiency of DHEA causes hormone imbalance in men as well as women. Study show that intake of DHEA is necessary for aging men for improving mental ability and alleviating stress.4. Coenezyme Q 10Coenezyme Q 10 helps to increase the circulation and oxygen levels of the blood stream. As we know that lack of oxygen in the blood can exacerbate cognitive deterioration.5. LecithinCholine and inositol in the lecithin helps to increase production of acetylcholine in our body helping the communication and signal-transmission between brain cells. An increase in lecithin will prompt brain cells to produce more acetylcholine, thus improving memory.6. TaurineBesides helping to protect the formation of free radicals in brain cells and enhance nervous cell function, taurine is essential in protecting the supply of magnesium and calcium in the brain.I hope this information will help.

If you love your man, and he gets abusive, what do you think is going on? If you consult a ‘family worker’ you’re likely to be encouraged to leave him. Sometimes this is the right advice. But if you know in your heart (or your brain) that this man is usually loving and caring and fun to be with, where do you go? Many women are intimidated by their ‘family worker’ and act on their advice. I once subscribed to the same view that ‘bad behavior’ was, simply bad behavior. But my direct experience changed my beliefs.

There could be another explanation for his abusive behavior, one that your family worker simply cannot comprehend. Family workers are trained to spot ‘bad behavior’ and to help their client, the ‘victim,’ to run away. They don’t ever consider that ‘bad behavior’ could be caused by anything that can be fixed, or treated.

I once worked as a temp for a place called ‘Family Care’. At morning break, I witnessed a conversation between two workers. I heard that he was intermittently very abusive and scary to the children of the marriage. For fun, I interjected ‘Have you ruled out mental illness in this father?’ One of the workers replied ‘Why?’ They never did get him assessed.

I lived with two men at different times who have been abusive, manipulative, controlling, making me feel guilty for not coming up to their impossible standards. One of them deliberately set out to destroy my favorite things and get me to spend a lump sum of money that I had recently received. Both of them had a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Both intermittently hit the alcohol in a big way. Their similarity of behavior was due to bipolar and alcohol. Their difference was in their character. It took a while to figure out what behavior was symptom-driven and what was chosen behavior.

Abuse tends to run in episodes, with the abusive person being sorry after the fact. Bipolar disorder is episodic too. It affects the person’s mood, activity and thinking. Many people with bipolar disorder (men and women) use alcohol or other drugs when their disorder is active, to try to ’still the mind’.

This means that many people with bipolar disorder are seen by professionals as simply alcoholics, drug users, or abusers. Many people with bipolar disorder become extremely irritated, paranoid and upset when the disorder is active, leading them to criticize everyone around them and to seek unwarranted revenge on those closest to them.

One of the men I lived with sought treatment. The doctors saw through the alcohol and abuse. They diagnosed bipolar disorder. Within 36 hours of taking a mood stabilizing agent, the man had stopped drinking, stopped being paranoid, stopped giving me a hard time and returned to being the nice fellow I had met.

He stayed that way until he forgot two doses in a row. Guess what? The paranoia, abuse, and drinking all started up again. The final proof for me was when he resumed his medicine – and the bad behavior disappeared again.

Too many relationships are being destroyed because the ‘experts’ ignore the possibility of mental illness. Bipolar disorder affects one person in every fifty to one hundred. That’s one person on every bus. It’s common. And it’s treatable!

You’ve heard not to throw the baby out with the bath-water. Well, if you’re about to throw your Baby away, pause a moment. See if you can get him assessed for his mental health. If it can be treated, chances are you can get your relationship back on track, his health restored, your dreams alive!

Each of us wishes to have a smooth and clear skin. Pimples and Acne destroy this dream of smooth and clear skin. However, we start searching of remedies once we think things have gone out of hand.
Acne formation can take place on any part of the body, but the most affected parts are chest, back and unfortunately face. You should start treating acne consciously instead of starting use of over the counter products, of whose chemical composition you have no knowledge about. This is reason you should gain all those things you require to know about acne before you start treating it.
Acne should be treated as a health problem and not merely a skin problem. Acne appears in teenagers and adults as well. There are different types of acne and so there are equally different types of acne treatments.
Each one of us has a different condition; some people might have mild and moderate acne. Mild acne can also be referred to as non-inflammatory acne. This type of acne includes formation of white heads and black heads on skin, mild acne can be easily treated and removed from your daily life. For acne treatment of mild acne, all you require doing is washing your face with warm water and soap at least twice a day. Using exfoliating soap would be the best. Acne treatment for you would be using cleansers to cleanse your skin so that the pores do not get blocked and skin can breathe easy.
Moderate acne is the one which covers half of your face. Acne treatment for moderate acne can be done at home; however, it is also advisable that you take suggestions of the dermatologist so that he can stop the moderate acne changing to severe acne. Acne treatment can be a combination of treatments for moderate acne. At this stage you can prevent acne becoming severe inflammatory acne.
The doctor might advice you acne treatment in two ways, by making sure that your skin is clean and there are no blocked pores. This acne treatment involves extraction of the blockages and such therapies which will dry out or remove the oils that block the pores.
Acne treatment also might include taking some prescription drugs so that the chances of the acne recurring or becoming a severe type of acne diminish.
Severe acne or inflammatory acne means pimples are larger in size and are filled with pus. These can leave scars and are also painful in some cases. Severe acne can leave permanent scars on the skin. Therefore, it is better that you do not allow your acne to reach this level.
Acne treatment for severe acne is long and complicated. Here the dermatologist does not have to only clean you face, you also requires mending it. He might also need you to go through surgery if you want to get rid of acne scars. Initially, acne treatment for severe acne might comprise of taking some oral medicines and cleansing of skin, surgery might come in quite later when acne has been stopped totally and all that is required to be done is mending the skin.
So you can now classify acne if you have any, so that you can take action against it as soon as possible.
